Question: Ask The Nuwaupians, Do You Know About The Plagiarized Lecture Called The Strangest Secret?
Answer: The Latter-Day Nuwaupians would have no clue.

Most Nuwaupians are unfamiliar with York's long history of plagiarism, this is due to their lack of cross referencing and comparative study. The reality is apparent, York plagiarized the works of many writers. This article highlights another of York's plagiarist patterns, laying claim to the intellectual property of motivational speaker Earl Nightingale, and his speech from 1957 called, The Strangest Secret in the World. We have presented excerpts from the transcripts of Earl Nightingale's speech, followed by portions from York's 1989 audio recording also called The Strangest Secret placing in red York's words as vivid proof of his plagiarism. Keep in mind, never once has York ever cited Earl Nightingale as the source in any publication, audio, video, or live lecture.

"Some years ago, the late Nobel prize-winning Dr. Albert Schweitzer was asked by a reporter, 'Doctor, what’s wrong with men today?' The great doctor was silent a moment, and then he said, 'Men simply don’t think!' It’s about this that I want to talk with you. We live today in a golden age. This is an era that humanity has looked forward to, dreamed of, and worked toward for thousands of years. We live in the richest era that ever existed on the face of the earth... a land of abundant opportunity for everyone."
-The Strangest Secret in the World: by Earl Nightingale 1956
"a question was put to me, what’s wrong with people today? and the answer, is quit simple, people simply don’t think! I want you to dwell on that one thought for a moment and apply it to you and your life. Think about it, and it’s about this that I want to talk with you today. We live in a time called golden age. This is an era that man has looked forward to, and have dreamed would come forth for centuries. (inaudible) We're in America, which is a particularly fortunate country the richest era that ever existed on the face of the earth … a land of abundant opportunity for everyone."

"...if you take 100 individuals who start even at the age of 25, do you have any idea what will happen to those men and women by the time they’re 65? These 100 people believe they’re going to be successful. They are eager toward life, there is a certain sparkle in their eye, an erectness to their carriage, and life seems like a pretty interesting adventure to them. But by the time they’re 65, only one will be rich, four will be financially independent, five will still be working, and 54 will be broke and depending on others for life’s necessities. Only five out of 100 make the grade! Why do so many fail? What has happened to the sparkle that was there when they were 25? What has become of the dreams, the hopes, the plans … and why is there such a large disparity between what these people intended to do and what they actually accomplished?

"...Let's just take 1,000 men, who start at the same age 25, do you have any idea what would happen to those men by the time they reach age 65?, better yet, let's make it 100, simplify it, these 100 men, who all start each at age 25, believe they are going to be successful, if you ask anyone of these men, if you wanted to be a success, he'd simply tell you, yes. And you'll notice that he's eager toward life, and that he feels he's going to accomplish something, you see a certain spark in their eye, you see a certain erectness in his carriage, and life seems like a pretty interesting adventure for him, But by the time they’re 65, one will be rich, four will be financially independent, five will still be working, and 54 will be broke, now think a moment. Out of 100, only 5 make the grade! Now why do so many fail? What has happened, what happened to that sparkle that was there when they were 25? What becomes of the dreams, the hopes, the plans … and why is there such a large and desperate group of failures? What do they need? between what happened to what these men intended to do and what they actually accomplished?"

"We learn to read by the time we’re seven. We learn to make a living by the time we’re 30. Often by that time we’re not only making a living, we’re supporting a family. And yet by the time we’re 65, we haven’t learned how to become financially independent in the richest land that has ever been known. Why? We conform! Most of us are acting like the wrong percentage group and the 95 who don’t succeed."

"Throughout history, the great wise men and teachers, philosophers, and prophets have disagreed with one another on many different things. It is only on this one point that they are in complete and unanimous agreement and the key to success and the key to failure is this"

"The human mind is much like a farmer’s land. The land gives the farmer a choice. He may plant in that land whatever he chooses. The land doesn’t care what is planted. It’s up to the farmer to make the decision. The mind, like the land, will return what you plant, but it doesn’t care what you plant. If the farmer plants too seeds and one a seed of corn, the other nightshade, a deadly poison, waters and takes care of the land, what will happen...?
-The Strangest Secret in the World: by Earl Nightingale 1956
"Suppose a farmer has some land, and it's good fertile land, now, the land gives the farmer a choice. He may plant in that land whatever he chooses, the land doesn’t care, it’s up to the farmer to make the decision. Now remember, we're comparing the human mind, with the land, because the mind like the land, doesn’t care what you plant in it, it will return what you plant, but it doesn't care now what you plant. Now let's say, the farmer has 2 too seeds in his hands, one is a seed of corn, the other is a deadly poison, he takes 2 little bowls of Earth, and he plants both seeds, one corn, the other is a deadly poison and takes care of the land, what will happen...?

"I remember one time I was driving through Eastern Arizona and I saw one of those giant earth moving machines roaring along the road with what looked like 30 tons of dirt in it and a tremendous, incredible machine and and there was a little man perched way up on top with the wheel in his hands, guiding it. As I drove along I was struck by the similarity of that machine to the human mind. Just suppose you’re sitting at the controls of such a vast source of energy. Are you going to sit back and fold your arms and let it run itself into a ditch? Or are you going to keep both hands firmly on the wheel and control and direct this power to a specific, worthwhile purpose? It’s up to you. You’re in the driver’s seat. You see, the very law that gives us success is a double edged sword. We must control our thinking. The same rule that can lead people to lives of success, wealth, happiness, and all the things they ever dreamed of and that very same law can lead them into the gutter. It’s all in how they use it … for good or for bad. That is The Strangest Secret!"

"One day while I was driving, I saw one of those giant earth machines moving, roaring along the road at about 35 miles an hour, with what looked like a 30 tons of dirt in it a tremendous, I mean a huge load, that this big machine was capable of moving, and and there was a little man perched way up on top with the wheel in his hands, guiding it. Reflect on what I'm trying to tell you at this point. And as I drove along, I was struck by the similarity of that machine to the human mind. Just suppose you’re sitting at the controls of such a vast source of energy. Are you going to sit back and fold your arms and let it run itself into a ditch by it's self?, Or are you going to keep both hands firmly on the wheel and control and direct this power to a specific, worthwhile purpose? "...Thirdly, to use all your courage to force yourself to think positively on your own problem. To set a definite and clearly defined goal for yourself. To let your marvelous mind think about your goal from all possible angles. To let your imagination speculate freely upon many different possible solutions. To refuse to believe there are any circumstances sufficiently strong to defeat you in the accomplishment of your purpose. To act promptly and decisively when your course is clear and to keep constantly aware of the fact that you are at this moment standing in the middle of your own 'Acres of Diamonds' as Russell Conwell used to point out.
Fourth, save at least 10% of what you earn. It’s also remembering that no matter what your present job, it has enormous possibilities, if you are willing to pay the price.
Now let’s just go over the important points in the price each of us must pay to achieve the wonderful life that can be ours. It is of course worth any price.
One: You will become what you think about.
Two: Remember the word imagination. Let your mind soar.
Three: Courage – Concentrate on your goal every day.
Four: Save 10% of what you earn.
And Action – Ideas are worthless unless we act on them.

Fourth, you must learn to save THOUGHTS at least 10% of EVERYTHING YOU HEAR, you should have stored in a saving bank in your mind that you can recall at any time or withdraw, remembering that no matter your present job, it has enormous possibilities, if you are willing to pay the price. You will become what you think about, remember the word imagination, and let your mind begin to soar.
Courage – concentrate on your goal every day, 7-10% of what you earn and action – Ideas are worthless unless we act on them."

The above comment is noteworthy, because York alters the statements from the original "save at least 10% of what you earn. It’s also remembering that no matter what your present job, it has enormous possibilities, if you are willing to pay the price" to "learn to save THOUGHTS at least 10% of EVERYTHING YOU HEAR, you should have stored in a saving bank in your mind that you can recall at any time or withdraw, remembering that no matter your present job, it has enormous possibilities, if you are willing to pay the price" this was done because York didn't want his followers to save money and certainly not "10%". One of the rules of living inside the York "Ansaar Community", was that you turn in ALL of your earnings, if not less that $100.00-$150.00 per day 6 days a week.
Certainly you can listen to both recordings and see beyond a shadow of a doubt of York's blatant plagiarism of Earl Nightingales', The Strangest Secret in the World.
