Question: Ask The Nuwaupians about the Diĝir Symbol Used By Malachi York REVISED

Answer: The answer given is on the video "Update" Wu-Nuwaupu Question & Answer Class 02-06-2014

 Note from the Author:
This article from February 2014 has been revised, updated and edited, to correct any and all typographical errors. In addition; as I develop more understanding of the Sumerian language and grammar via my Sumerian language classes, I'm now better able to bring more clarity, confirmation, and corrections to the misinformation found in the Nuwaupian doctrine as taught by Dwight "Malachi" York.  Chuck Morgan

I want to address a couple of points from this silly video featuring a poor and clueless Nuwaupian/York representative.  There are many erroneous statements made, but it would take too much time clearing them all up, however I'll bring clarity to at least two.  The statements made by the representatives and supporters of Malachi York are a series of fabrications, fantasies, fallacies, and  on the spot deceptions full of historical inaccuracies.

A question from an audience member in the video says:

"I want to know what this sign is and what does it mean ?"

We've edited the video to the section dealing with the question and answers.  Watch closely at the responses given and the distortion of the truth with NOT a single reference to any textual sources for verification. NO cuneiform tablet; nothing from any credible Assyriologist or Sumerologist.

A.

The "symbol" from the video is what York used and is the subject of the question. York has placed this symbol on several publications, however it's simply a corruption of an actual cuneiform sign used in Sumerian grammar, literature and iconography known as a diĝir.

Again, what York uses here is a corruption of the determinative (classifier) diĝir, placed before the name of the deity to indicate his/her divine nature.  It's superscripted with a /d/

𒀭𒂗𒆤 normalized or transliterated as, d-En-lil2 or 𒀭𒂗𒆠d-En-ki. Like all Sumerian determinatives, they are NEVER pronounced.

Below is a chart of its timeline in history as found in various Mesopotamian texts.

 As you can see from the above chart of the evilution of the diĝir symbol; initially a sign of a star, this symbol has been used to represent the sky /AN/ as well as, and evolved from the pictographic representation of a star. In Old Akkadian it was pronounced šamû meaning "sky", ilu-deity. Diĝir is seen in many clay, cone and cylinder cuneiform tablets, here's a couple of examples.

York definitely had a poor working knowledge of the symbol and how it was used in Sumerian grammar.  This is evident because in the same book they were quoting from (Holy Tablets) York refers to diĝir as Dinneer and defines it as,

"the righteous ones of the rocket ships"

-Malachi York: Holy Tablets: The Glossary pg. 1664

That definition was taken in-part (you guessed it) from Zecharia Sitchin.  York borrowed a flawed definition of a "rocket ship" from Sitchin called it a "rocket ship".

"...the E.DIN was the abode ('E') of the DIN ('The Righteous/Divine Ones').  Their full title was DIN.GIR, meaning 'The Righteous Ones of the Rocket ships'..."

-Zecharia Sitchin: Divine Encounters: A Guide to Visions, Angels, and Other Emissaries PDF page 39

In the above illustration from Sitchin, what did was (and York blindly followed)  Sitchin broke up the determinative and made it into a dual syllable term Din-gir, and attributed the words to mean;

Din= "righteous, pure, bright"

Gir= "sharp object; rocket"

When the person asking the question "...what this sign is and what does it mean .."  why didn't the so-called teacher mention that definition given from York, they certainly knew it was there, because they were reading out of the same book.

The Nuwaupians representing York and his doctrine said:
...that symbol right there is supposed to be Enki, Enlil, Anu and umm his sister and the umm....

 In spite of his poor articulation of what York writes, there is no evidence from any Mesopotamian text mentioning the diĝir sign as having points designating "Enki-Enlil-Anu" or anyone else.  The person asking the question should have followed up with;

"what ancient document depicts each point designating Enki-Enlil-Anu and his sister?"

It's safe to conclude that the person speaking didn't know what he was talking about, and to save face, expounded off the top of his head with no source material to back his comments, not even from York his "Master teacher".

B.
The guy at the podium goes on to say:
"...are you familiar with who the din-gir are...those are the warrior class of the Anunnaki you know what I'm saying, the 'Umshumgal' these are the ones that were sent out to go to war with the reptilians and stuff like that..."

His comments are laughable and wrong.  There is NO documentation nor any ancient sources mentioning that the din-gir were a warrior class of Anunnaki sent to war with reptilians.  York mentions in his books the term, "U.SHUM.GAL":

"In Sumerian doctrine, equivalents to the Cherubeem and Serapheem would be the U.SHUM.GAL and the ANUNNA...as far as the language is concerned in Sumer the U.SHUM.GAL were the winged serpents who would be equivalent to the Serapheems meaning 'fiery serpents'."

Is Jesus GOD? pg. 14-15

York arrived at the above conclusion after reading the book below.

This is evident in the following prison letter by York.  Parts were later added to the Is Jesus GOD book which was released after York's incarceration.

Umshumgal or Umshamgal is explained in various scholarly works by Assyriologist, all anyone has to do is take the time and investigate.

Sumerologist John A. Halloran explains it in the following email sent to me:

"Ušumgal: lord of all, sovereign; solitary; monster of composite powers, dragon - thought to live in the forests; simply put, (ušum, 'dragon', + gal, 'great')

Regards, John A. Halloran"

This is confirmed and verifiable in the Pennsylvania Sumerian Dictionary (ePSD).

The Pennsylvania Sumerian Dictionary Project is carried out in the Babylonian section of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology, so  it too is a credible source.

The term Usumgal is mentioned in the Sumerian text of Enki and the World Order,

-Enki and the World Order English Translation: 1-19 Electronic Text Corpus of Sumerian Literature (eTCSL)

This was a terrible class, these people are totally unqualified to teach anything on the ancient world. These student/teachers of York are very very misinformed, it's evident in their stumbling and spotty answers in their presentation.  There's no mention of Nommos, Haaton, Reptile people or Siidiihis in Sumerian mythology, so why bring them up.
